So there I was, eating a fine after school meal at the local Taco Bell with a few friends, as the unmistakeable sound of a 1960's 4.2 litre inline-6, paired with the most beautiful body ever mated to a chassis pulls up at a stoplight, right outside the Taco Bell.
Cars like the E-Type, or any vehicle made in that weird place across the Atlantic aren’t really popular in Fuquay-Varina, NC (yes, that is the name of the town), so it’s surprising to see an Audi, let alone an E-Type. Well, there is someone who owns a Citeron 2CV, and someone else who owns a DeTomaso Pantera...
And it was fantastic. I’m referring to the Taco Bell, the E-Type was more than fantastic.

Said it here earlier today - drove one LHD example and one RHD example here in US America. Three most pure driving experiences: 1) E-Type; 2) cousin’s ‘76 BMW 2002; 3) my ‘91 CRX Si.

Unpopular Oppopinion: I don’t really find the E-type that good-looking. It’s pretty, sure, but I don’t think it’s the most gorgeous car ever or even in the top ten.

You’re fine. You’re wrong. But you’re fine.

I have a list of cars that I need to drive before I’m 20, and the E-Type is at the top of the list, followed by anything from France, and something with 12 cylinders.

Not even with the top down?
What would you say is in your top 5?

The few I’ve seen in person just take my breath away, such classic styling, strong lines, and the twin pipes sticking out the back. I once saw a hard top in British racing green, wow, just wow.

That’s a series 2 (69-71) roadster. Either a 69 or 70.
It does have the 4.2.
